What is Reformed Wear

There is an interesting marvel taking place often on Sundays and Saturdays in our chapels throughout the world which is a bit baffling. This interesting phenomenon is the tendency of worshipers going to church in their Christian clothes or their Sunday finest. This means that individuals segregate the clearest, most official clothing so that they wear them only for church services. When not in a conventional clothing or suit and tie, one may appear out of place in many denominations.

There exists indication in history that one method the local clergy was separated from other local people was using what they wore; whether it be a new robe, special vestments, or even other special liturgical components. This started out to strengthen the particular idea that certain men were called to minister to the church of Lord, and some were ministered to.

However, because the church grew to become more of a corporation along with policies and regulations to follow and much less associated with the living religious things, a myriad of separation and fragmentation commenced. This included the official dress of the clergy or “special class” as they were different from other people even in education. How does wearing special clothing to church assist?

One possible reason for this is that individuals have got a desire to come closer to God, and if by any miracle there was a physical meeting with God, they must be ready. Of course we’d want to make a good impression that we’re sincere; that we’re serious and have to be there. Hence, having one opportunity to “impress” the God of the universe, we would be careful about how good we looked and how clean we are.
The Essential Laws of Trends Explained

One more excuse that we dress formally regarding the church services would be that we think deep down in our psyche that we are trying to be acceptable to the Deity we all have come to praise. Maybe God needs champions of faith, and we need to dress like we are winners for Him.
Yet maybe we all dress up on weekends to ensure we can win over those guests who come to the church to discover the God of the Bible. All of us dress in the so called “Sunday best” to ensure those who are not Christians can notice the hypocritical “victory” and “success” and “happiness”. But the message from the scripture is usually that our success with God is really a pure heart, not really the physical clothing. The right Christian clothes are what you may happen to be wearing; as Christian believers, we have clothed ourselves with Christ in a psychic sense, and are usually not to be interested with making our outward look appear as what is on the inside.

This debate of the right clothing can go on and on with different views from different perspectives. Just be decent when you attend a church service, nothing more.
